Backstop: | Manually move the backstop to the desired distance from the edge of the board. The backstop scale reads the distance from the center of the punch, in inches and metric. |
Time: | Normally about 5 seconds |

| OPERATION: |
Insert material: | into the punch, against the backstop |
Actuate: | (Manually powered:) Pull the handle to actuate the punch. Just a few pounds of pull are required to punch through heavy corrugated boxboard. The weight of the punch is balanced by a pneumatic spring, which also serves to dampen and smooth the punch motion. (Air powered:) Press the foot pedal to actuate the punch. |
Release: | (Manually powered:) Return the handle to the up position. The pneumatic spring assists and dampens the motion. (Air powered): Release the foot pedal. The punch returns to the up position. The front guard shucks the boxboard off the punch as it rises. |
Remove: | Remove the boxboard. Time to punch: about 1 second |
| CHANGING PUNCH: |
| | Replacing the male punch and female die takes about 10 minutes. |
Male punch: | Remove guard Remove 2 bolts Male punch slides out Slide new male punch in Tighten 2 bolts Time: about 5 minutes |
Female die: | Remove front table insert (lifts out) Unbolt die (2 bolts) Remove female die Insert new female die Line up female die and male punch Tighten 2 bolts Replace front table insert Time: about 5 minutes |
